Mel Thomson: The Most Excellent Way – Love is Graceful

Welcome to “The Most Excellent Way: Love is Graceful!”

In her sermon titled “Love is Graceful,” Mel explored the graceful dimension of love, focusing on a pivotal verse from 1 Corinthians 13: “Love does not rejoice in evil.” She emphasised that Corinth, the city to which Paul wrote this letter, was not known for its righteousness; it was filled with sin and wickedness, and the Corinthian Christians were struggling. Paul called them out for tolerating evil, urging them to mourn over it instead. He reminded them that love does not rejoice in wrongdoing or delight in sin. However, Mel also shared the good news: God’s love is full of grace. Through Christ Jesus, there is no condemnation. God’s grace extends beyond forgiveness; it lavishes us with undeserved blessings and favour. She encouraged the congregation to reflect on God’s grace, to be grateful for their journey, and to approach God with humble hearts, asking Him to lead them in His ways. As they celebrated communion, they were reminded of God’s amazing grace and their freedom from condemnation, embraced by His love.
