When Two Become One

Grace City Church have been approached by the leadership of the vine church in dunfermline with the following proposal.

After the summer of 2023 Pastors Aaron and Lynsey Dowds discussed with the Elders of the Vine Church that they felt they had completed their mandate as senior pastors of the Vine and it was time to get in some new Senior Pastors for the next chapter of the life of the church.

This is something they had felt for a while and was a difficult decision to make but they felt the Lord was in it. The Eldership of the Vine started a consultation process with an external consultant called Nic Harding.

This led to conversations over many weeks and months and questions were asked such as “is there anybody locally who has a heart for Dunfermline with a similar DNA to yourselves who could lead the church?” The team felt that Steve and Hannah Chalmers would be the ideal leaders for this next season…..

Welcome to the Elim Church

The Elim Pentecostal Church is a growing Movement of Christian congregations in the UK and Ireland.

Elim was founded in 1915 by George Jeffreys, a young Christian from Maesteg in South Wales. Jeffreys and a group of friends, known as the Elim Evangelistic Band, preached, started churches and witnessed a move of God that was characterised by miraculous healings and an explosion in the number of people becoming Christians.
In a world that can feel like a desert, our 21st-century churches seek to be a place of spiritual resource within their communities.

The founders wanted the name of their new Movement to express their vision and values, and so chose ‘Elim’, the name of an oasis in the Bible that the people of Israel discovered as they wandered through the desert. It provided shade and refreshment to all who encountered it.
