Power Lines of Connection Week 4

Stuck in reverse” is said to mean that when everything in your life is backwards and you feel like you’re drowning in failure. When everything is opposite of how it should be.  Many people feel “stuck in reverse” and are in hope for someone to “Fix You”

Jesus’s advent/coming was a search-and-rescue-mission.  He is the Prince of Shalom that came to repair what was broken, to FIXIT, to restore to completeness and wholeness.  Coldplay in their song “Fix You” describe well our brokenness and need of fixing.  Chris Martin describes it as “probably the most important song we’ve ever written”

That’s the hope of our world and the need.  The need is to fix the pain, the loss and the brokenness and the hope is that someone will fix you.  But very quickly we all discover no human being, no bottle of liquid, nothing you smoke or inject or even swallow from a prescription can FIX YOU!  You need something, someone else.  You need put back together again.  You need fixed.  You need the cracks repaired.  You need completeness and wholeness.  You need restored.  You need Shalom and a Prince of Shalom to bring it to you and not as a one off – but ongoing every day of your life.  We all have cracks and are in need of someone to “Fix You”

“mission is not primarily an activity of the church, but an attribute of God. God is a missionary God.”
David J. Bosch
“To participate in mission is to participate in the movement of God’s love toward people, since God is a fountain of sending love.”
